Commonwealth War Graves Commission

10/05/2014

The CWGC is of course one of the most remarkable organisations to have come out of the First World War. On a global level, the care they take of British and Commonwealth war graves is remarkable, and on a very practical research level, their website has a database which allows you to track down individuals who died in both world wars and find out where they are buried. Now Fabian Ware, the founder of the Imperial War Graves Commission (which later became the CWGC) has been given a blue plaque, marking his former home in Marylebone.
